The Provo Herald has this article about new farmers markets in Highland and Mapleton. Here's a quote:
The Highland Town Market will be held Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon from Aug. 11 through Sept. 27. The cost for produce vendors is $8 a week. The cost for non-produce vendors is $15 a week. Potential vendors can visit TheHighlandTownMarket.blogspot.com for details.
Mapleton resident Derek Haynie is organizing that city's first farmers market, which will be held every Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. beginning on July 28. There are no fees for vendors, and Haynie said he is hoping to create an old-fashioned feel. Locals will eat better and feel better knowing all the food at the market is local, he said. Beyond fresh veggies, he is hoping vendors will bring honey, beef, eggs and baked goods. For information about the Mapleton Market, visitmapletonmarket.org.
